I hooked up with some old college buddies on Friday. We went to a bar called Sammys in an out of the way place. We drank a few beers and talked about old times. After about an hour and a half we really didnt have anything to say to each other. So we played air hockey. Nothing is a better laugh then playing air hockey when you are drunk.

The bar had a dance floor, which was like a voting ground. Only 20 people fancied dancing. But they would only dance to the songs they liked. Thus conditioning the DJ to play crap like Shania Twain, EmnEm and line dance songs. A live band was playing in another room. They covered mostly cheesy 80s hair songs and had a female lead singer. We watched them for about twenty minutes. We decided to leave when they started playing blink 182. Damned if people choose the shallowest songs for their anthems of brotherhood.

It was interesting to see the boys again. We came together because of our geography in the dorm. We drank together, played video games together, talked about chicks together and discussed our planned futures together. Now we are living the futures we talked about. We have car payments and rent. We are still the same people. But the economics of the real world made us cold. We mostly despise our jobs. We miss the days when we had nothing and the future looked bright. Now we realize the future is overcast and were toting umbrellas along for the ride.
