� 2003-07-13 - 7:42 p.m. I went on a date Thursday night with a girl who was born and raised in South Africa. We had a good time; she had a lot of good stories about crazy elephants and the like. I tried telling the story about the hipster lesbian but it just seemed to pail in comparison. She called me Saturday morning to see if I wanted to go downtown with her but I was unable to. I had to get some damage to my car appraised. Just some hale damage. There are several Golf Ball sized dents on the roof and hood. They gave me a check for nearly 3000 dollars. I�ll simply take the money and not get it fixed. Score! I had a huge Saturday planned. I originally planned on seeing a local band called Panda Panda with some friends of mine. My friends decided to attend a soccer match instead so I made plans to go to dinner with a co-worker. I invited a girl to go with me as my date. Saturday afternoon came and my co-worker said he had to cancel because his wife had to do something else. I thought this was great at at the time because I would then have plenty of time alone with my date. Then the date called and said she would be late because of a wake. Her mother was making her attend the wake at the last minute. She said she would be back around 7:30 but she didn�t call until 9. There went my evening. So I�ve done practically nothing with my weekend. I played some tennis today. I read half of a book and a good short story. I took a shower and did some laundry. Maybe next weekend will be better. I plan to meet last nights date tonight. She is driving to the area and will call when she is nearby. This girl seems to be a little more attractive than the south African, she has a good job, seems to be motivated and active. However she is a Packer�s fan, has a kid and a messy relationship with the kids father, she is a neat freak, she hates porn and once drove over her ex�s porn collection with her car. So we�ll see how this meeting goes. So far none of the girls I�ve been on dates with have been anything like my ex. Although I don�t want my ex back, I am hopeful to find someone who has a likeness to her yet is more intelligent and has her life together. That sounds awful! I am happy with someone who is good company and I can have a few laughs with. Who needs a serious relationship now? I should just go on some dates, see what is out there.
