Neglected Journal entry 2!

The following few negelected entries were written throughout the month of January

A couple of weekends ago the parrot talkshow and I went to see a band called Saturday looks great. They opened for MOS a couple of times. At the time they had a female bass player named Grace. During the MOS set Talkshow struck up a conversation with Grace and was even invited to a party with her. Unfortunately he declined for some reason and has beat himself up over the incident ever since. So it was a no-brainer when we heard they were playing right around the corner.

We arrived early and started drinking. We kept looking for Grace before the band went on. Unfortunately Grace wasn’t there and some drip was playing bass. They also had a new female singer. She was like Joanna Jett meets the pretenders. She had an, ‘I’m better than you’, posture which gave her a sexy stage presence. They sounded a little better with their new line up, however we wanted Grace. Then singer started some stream of thought babbling non sense, “then you smoke your Canadian cigarettes and ponder…..” He continued on this rant for a bout a minute. During this time Talkshow was encouraging a shout out for Grace? I initially resisted but then caved, “Where’s Grace?” I yelled to which the ranting bastard replied, “… After your Canadian cigarette your have a desperate cry for attention, you’re definitely going home alone….” He called me out bastard. “Your band sucks without Grace!” We were out of there rather quickly after that.
